Newly Diagnosed

When a child is first diagnosed with Autism, it is very normal for the family to feel overwhelmed and confused about the diagnosis. However, in many cases, we see some families relieved because now they know what they are dealing with and can start the treatment process.

AAOP is here to assist families through this process. We welcome new families to call our warm line at (661) 523-2267 (AAOP) where they are able to leave a confidential message for our board. You may also choose to email us at [email protected]. Based on your specific needs, one of us will call you back to discuss how we could assist you in starting your journey. We are here to answer any questions you may have no matter how big or small. Please know that our board is very discrete and will honor each family’s choices on when and how they will share this information with their family and friends.

The more you struggle, the deeper you go. The earlier you get help, the easier it is to recover.

We are here to help guide you through this process, providing resources, links, referrals and a guide to the best options based on your specific situation (location, insurance, state or local resources, etc…). We are located in California, and can guide most families through their options. However, we are also well connected to assist in Armenian Communities in other states or countries as well. Just ask!
Creating a support system is also essential. AAOP can help you decide how to share the information with your family, friends and community. We can connect you with families that have gone through similar situations. Even though our outreach is to help the community better understand Autism, our families are challenged with many different diagnoses. Our AAOP Ambassadors are here to assist you with resources, suggestions, options and most importantly, a supportive community. You are not alone. We are in this together.
